Compatibility
The solution is compatible with Microsoft Exchange 2000. With the server side integration there is no need for a client installation or update. So the version of the client applications are transparent to the MetaConnector. Outlook 97, Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000 have been tested with the solution. Starting with version 1.2 of the product, Outlook Web Access is supported to allow a web based access to archived messages.

Archiving of Contacts, Notes and other Items
MetaConnector for Microsoft Exchange 2000 allows to archive contacts, notes, tasks and other items. The archiving of public folders is also supported.

Storage Components
The management of the storage components is completely independent from the Exchange Server installation. Magnetic and optical storage media, data mirroring, document migration and corporate-wide data distribution is supported. New storage components and new archive servers can be added without interference with the Exchange environment. This archiving solution has a graphical configuration and data/document-flow planning interface. The MetaConnector for Exchange 2000 is integrated into this Archive Administration Center.
